The group will begin with a Wine Aroma Competition, this is a team
event where each table works together to identify the smells from
the wine aromas bottles (this is what we use professionally to learn
how to identify the smells in different wines). This is a fun event
and acts as a great ice breaker to help the guests on each table
to immediately communicate with each other.

The Group will then blind taste 5 classic wines from around the world
(white and red). The host will introduce each wine and give some
hints on how to tell the age and where in the world a particular
wine may come from. Armed with this information each person will
try and figure out, from a multiple-choice card, the country, region,
grape variety and vintage of each wine. Once again this is a very
popular activity.

So we thought we'd set
up this unique opportunity for clients to blend their own! Using
4 classic wine varieties from around the world, each of which has
a particular character, delegates are provided with the use of professional
blending equipment to blend their own unique wine. Find out what
really suits your palate; be it soft and fruity or fine and elegant.
After blending several different wines, each team will forward one
blend to the Tasting and Judging Panel, which is made up of group
members. The new wine blends are then judged before a winner is decided
at the end of the evening. This is a truly enjoyable test of the senses
and not surprisingly, a very popular activity.

A hive of activity fills the air
when delegates are transformed into
working Coopers to complete this
task against the clock and more importantly,
against each other! The competition
would take the following format;
your host will explain the competition
and will then demonstrate the task.
6 teams of 6 (3+3) will be decided.
The first 1⁄2 of each team
will have to dismantle and rebuild
a Brandy barrel then roll it to where
the second half of the team, again
dismantle and rebuild it before rolling
it back to its start position. Half
the group will be Wine Tasting while
the other half is barrel building
and then they swap over.
Team Problems - if the barrel is reassembled badly
it will be very difficult (but entertaining)
to see them try to roll it and stop
it from falling apart. The team that
completes the task in the shortest
time and to a satisfactory standard
is judged the winners.

Learn the indulgent art of chocolate making (and tasting!)Our professional
Chocolatier (how about that for a career choice?) hosts this unique
chocolate workshop. The session begins with a brief history of chocolate,
whilst delegates tuck in to some samples including some rather unusual
flavors! Then it's straight in there with the chocolate as you learn
to make a range of luxury chocolate truffles and pralines. You will
decide and make up your own favourite fillings and then have a go
at dipping and coating your creations. After being shown just how
to decorate your chocolates, the last part of the workshop is spent
doing just that. Your own chocolate creations are then ready to be
packed into a box to take home.

The estate was established in 1972 and is set in the grounds of a
wonderful 18th Century, Jersey Granite Farmhouse; La Mare is Jersey's
only Vineyards and Distillery. This Private Tour will lead experts
and novices alike, behind the scenes, through the Winemaking and
Distilling process. It begins with a gentle stroll through the vines
and orchard, after which, you are invited into the new winery where
the winemaking process will be explained. Then a visit to the new
Cognac style distillery followed by a tasting of La Mare's Jersey
Wines and the famous Jersey Apple Brandy and Jersey Cream Liqueur.
Weather permitting; we like to host the tastings outside on the main
lawn, by the house.
